etnies x FOS
Mark "Fos" Foster and etnies come from the same world, approached from two different angles. Fos is a British skateboarder and artist who has been shaping skate culture for decades, founder of Heroin Skateboards, former art director for Baker, Deathwish and Altamont, and the hand behind some of the most recognizable graphics in skateboarding. His style is immediately identifiable: raw, funny, strange and completely sincere. etnies has been building skate footwear since 1986, with roots in both Paris and Southern California.
The etnies × Fos collaboration brings that artwork onto product. Two proven etnies silhouettes, the Locut Vulc and the Emerson, carry Fos's illustrations across the insoles and detailing, extended into a full apparel capsule of a tee, hoodie and cap. The collection came together the way Fos works best: hands-on and without overthinking it. He drew the characters, painted the obstacles, and showed up to the session.
A collection for skaters who grew up on the graphics Fos drew, and for newer skaters who want product made by someone who helped build the culture from the inside.
